Welcome to your 2021-2022 Blended Learning Classroom

 

 

You will be using technology this year to help prepare you for college and the workforce. Our school is a Google school, and we will be using Google Classroom, Google Drive, apps, Web 2.0 tools, and other interactive multimedia resources stored in the cloud to collaborate, produce and publish projects to the web.

 

Using industry recognized software, students will focus on skills needed to obtain industry standard certifications pertinent to education and careers. Students taking Survey of Business will focus on foundational skills in software applications necessary to obtain Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications. Other courses will include skills necessary to obtain certifications in Digital Literacy and Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) as well as the Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Microsoft IT Academy

For the past five years, our school has incorporated the Microsoft IT Academy curriculum in our classroom. This was made possible by the Arkansas Department of Career Education. After completing coursework in Computerized Business Applications students were able to test for certification in Microsoft Office 2016 in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word Expert, and Excel Expert. This past year, Mrs. Plyler and I had a combined total of 162 MOS Certifications.  Forty-four students received the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in PowerPoint; 49 students also received MOS certification in Word, 6 students received MOS certification in Word Expert, 26 students received MOS certification in Excel, 2 received MOS certification in Excel Expert, and 32 received MOS certification in Outlook. For the first time since we began testing, we had 2 students to achieve Master demonstrating the deepest level of skills needed to proficiently use Microsoft Office. What an accomplishment!
