Do you think our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem? Why or why not? Please provide your explanation using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation to express your opinion. You must provide 3-4 sentences.)
Yes, veteran's deserve these things. They have fought hard for our country and some have fought for years. The military and war is a huge importance to our nation and our veterans deserve the most respect we can give them.
yes veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the national anthem because of the soldiers who went and gave everything they had to serve and protect our country. Some of which didn't make it back. For them to go to unknown terrain to fight unknown people for only one purpose, to keep America free, is one of the most honorable things anyone could do in America.
Yes because veterans has risked their lives trying to save ours for example. some veterans has lost their legs, eyes, arms, etc, so not only should it deserve to be a national holiday but be shown respect as well by taking your hat off while the national anthem is going.
I personally believe that Veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. They deserve recognition every day in my opinion. At any time, soldiers can be called out and shipped off to fight and work. They protect our country from more than we know. Veterans have my full respect because they signed up to fight for us, and a lot of people don’t understand how dangerous conditions are and can be. Thank you Veterans and anyone serving in the Military now and in the future.
I think veterans deserve a national holiday because they risk their lives to protect our country.
I definitely think that our veterans deserve a national holiday as well as respect during the National Anthem. Our veterans are the reason for our freedom. They risked their lives to protect our country. I am so thankful for our veterans and respect them for being so brave to defend our nation.
The veterans deserve more than what they get. Our veterans only have a holiday and yet, many many veterans are homeless. Our Veterans deserve the most respect out of any group in America. Yet, we still have homeless veterans on the streets in the city, wondering why the world they protected has abandoned them. So yes, Americas veterans deserve much more than what they've received.
I believe that veterans deserve their own national holiday and respect during the national anthem. Every holiday we celebrate is because someone did something great. We honor those people through celebrating their holiday. Defending your country, its people, and sacrificing your life is something great to me. That is something all Americans should respect. These people , these veterans, have risked everything for us. The least we can do is give them respect , even in a song, and celebrate Veterans day. We owe everything to them.
Our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. First of all our veterans fight for us, American citizens, everyday. Day in and day out they are battling something new in order to keep us safe, the least we could do is show them respect. One day out of the year is not enough to celebrate our veterans, we should be praising them everyday. The National Anthem is very important to us. It is our nations song. Respecting the flag and our veterans during the National Anthem is something that we all should do; it should be something we want to do.
We should show are Veterans more then just respect they deserve all are love and respect. Yes I think they deserve a national holiday and more then are respect during the National Anthem. I think they deserve a reward for what they've done for us.
Our veterans are our family that volunteered their life for us. They laid their lives down and risked the loss of their own life and time away from their family in order to keep our country safe. We as Americans should be eternally grateful for these amazing people. Veterans deserve a national holiday as a day of remembrance of the fallen and the ones still with us today. These are the strongest people in our country that care the most about other's lives. The least we could do is appreciate and acknowledge these special people that gave their all for everyone else. The holiday should remain till the end of time as respect for our veterans.
American life has been shaped by our Veterans. Veteran’s Day and the National Anthem honor all soldiers who made sacrifices and were completely devoted to our country. The veterans are our friends, neighbors, and heroes. They should receive a great deal of respect. We, as Americans, should show our gratitude to them on Veteran’s Day and should show respect during the National Anthem.
Yes, I strongly believe that our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. Veterans volunteer their lives in honor of our country. It is not a command, it is a choice that these men and women take. These various people have risked their lives to fight for our country. They represent America in every shape, form, and fashion to the best of their abilities. In the past and in this present day. veterans have fought to provide independence and opportunity to the people of the United States. Therefore, we should choose to respect those who serve, those who have served, and the lost lives as well. These people deserve a national holiday in honor of them, just as they pursue their national duties in honor of our country that we call home. America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, because we have such brave veterans that fight for our freedom. I give my thanks to every single one of them.
Do you think our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem? Why or why not?
I think our veterans do deserve there own national holiday. November 11 is the day to celebrate veterans and I think they need there day of recognition, because they have done a lot for us they have protected our country and served as soldiers. Do they deserve respect during the National Anthem? Well yes they have fought and kept our flag standing, and gave there lives for us.
I think that this was a very important thing to remember that there was a time when they were out there on the battlefield earning our freedom. To remember those who sacrificed themselves so that we may live a life of freedom to live a better life. This shows us that we must honor them with respect and gratitude for what they did for us. Thank you veterans for fighting for us and for fighting to make us a free nation.
I for one do believe that our veterans deserve a national holiday, and respect during the National Anthem. These men and woman risk their lives everyday for us, and I believe that deserves respect. Rather than being around their families and companions everyday, they went out and battle for us. These are individuals who do not know who we are personally, but still leave there families and homes to protect us, so we can make the most of our freedom, and go to bed safe at night. Therefore, I look at them as heroes, who deserve respect.
I think that veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem because they fought for us in war for our freedom and they gave everything up for use to protect our nation. that why veterans should have a national holiday and respect during the national anthem.
Yes, I do think our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. Veterans put their lives on the line for our country. Without them, we wouldn't have the many freedoms we posses today. For example, freedom of religion. Everyday we take for granted our freedom to attend church. Many citizens of other countries are critisized for their beliefs, but because we have veterans who fight for us we can go to church or believe whatever religion we want. So let us respect our veterans and give them the recognition they deserve.
Do our veterans deserve respect and a national holiday? Yes. These courageous men and women giving their lives for ours. They do not even know me and yet they re prepared to die for everyones freedoms and everyone's rights. As Americans we treasure our freedoms and speak out when we feel they are being taken or wrongfully treated. Yet we do not show the respect to the people who are fighting to keep those rights that we love to protest we have. Yes, they do deserve every last ounce of respect we can muster as a nation. Yes, they do deserve a national holiday because they are protecting our way of life, the way we think and who we are.
Yes I think our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during the national anthem. Because we owe them the respect and gratitude that they have earned and represented through the wars that we as Americans have encountered.
I feel as the Veterans deserve to be respected in the National Anthem but they also deserve to be respected everywhere and anytime. Veterans also deserve a day or two for their services. Veterans were wiling to give up their lives; they at least need a day for us to say Thank you.
Yes, i think they should have national holiday and respect during the anthem. They should get their respect because they protected us and fight for us to keep us safe from other people they don't belong in the USA. And we probably wouldn't be a state without them. And thats why i think they should deserve a national holiday and respect.
I think that veterans do deserve to have a day just about them. I also think they do deserve respect during the National Anthem. The reason why I think these things are simple. They used their own personal time and lives to fight for us. When they could have been spending that time with their families. Every time they put on their uniform they make an oath to protect what they are fighting for.
Veterans do deserve a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. Here are some reasons why they deserve respect and a nation holiday. They deserve respect because they fight for our country, and our freedom. They fight for everyone, risking their lives to others. They put themselves ahead of others and do what’s right.
Yes I think veterans deserve a national holiday, although some people say veterans are just normal men dressed in a costume, I see them as differently. Most people who talk bad about military men aren't willing to drop their life to serve for our country. I support our veterans majorly because I myself would be scared to death to step on a battlefield with bullets flying in every direction. Also during the National Anthem everyone should be very respectful, if you live in America and you are safe then it is because of our military, so they deserve the upmost respect for keeping you safe.
I think that veterans do deserve their own holiday. Veterans Day is meant to honor the men and women who have sacrificed so much just to keep us and our country safe. They should have their own holiday so that nobody ever forgets what they have done for us, the United States of America, their families, and themselves.
When it comes to what I think about veteran’s day I do think that we should have it. The veterans have given up so much for us. Whether they lost their lives or not they put their life’s on the line for us for our freedom. That’s why I think there should be veteran’s day.
Yes I do think veterans should have a day were we respect them. The reason why I am yes is because all these men are risking their lives not only for the people they love but also for people they don’t even know and I respect that. So to me I think Veterans Day should be celebrated and thought of a lot more then it is now. Because if it wasn’t for them risking their lives in fighting in that war for us then we would most likely all be dead.
Veteran’s should have a day because, they risked there lives for ours. To me that is worth giving them a day for us to say thank you for that. Some people are so disrespectful they can’t even stand up for the national anthem. To me that is a way to respect our soldiers. Veteran’s should a have a veteran’s day because it’s a way we can thank them for keeping us safe.
I think that they should have a day, because they are risking there life for people they don’t know, and people they do and they might not get to their families again but they still go anyway because they know it’s what they want to do. And if anyone wants to risk their life and risk not see their family again then they deceiver a day of the year.
In my opinion about veteran’s day being a holiday I think it’s a wonderful thing that we have It. Are troops risk and spend their life fighting for are country. I’ve noticed some people not respecting are pledge and national anthem. People like that should not even be a U.S citizen. Thank you Troops for Serving are Country!!
Yes, I do think they deserve their own holiday because they nearly get killed for us. They fight these battles that make them suffer from PTSD or Depression afterwards. They go away for a long time away from their family. Some of them become homeless after the war. Out of all these things they go through for us I do think they deserve a day and respect. I will always respect them for what they go through and the things they see there.
I think our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect during our national anthem. The reason that I think they deserve a national holiday is because they fought for their country and their freedom. That’s a very honorable thing to do. I also think they deserve respect during the national anthem. Because they fought for their country and again that is a very honorable thing to do.
I think our veterans deserve a national holiday because they fought and served on the front lines of battle. Our veterans fight for this country and some die and never come back because they died for the country we are in. I believe the people of the United States Of America should STAND and respect the National Anthem because to me that is a disgrace to this country because our veterans are out there fighting for us and we aren’t going to stand for that, that is a disgrace. I do think that Veterans Day is a very special holiday and that it is wonderful that we have it.
They deserve this holiday for many years, for our strengths, our rights, and for each others possibilities.
There is a dark side in all of use that we put and leave there, we respect the veterans to when they run through the dark.
Yes I do think that our Veteran’s need a day of respect because they were the people that risked their life for us to argue over which presidential candidate is better. They were the brave soldiers who cried themselves to sleep at night worrying if they will ever be able to see their families again. Yes I do think that they deserve all attention during the National Anthem for putting their lives in danger for the country that they love so dearly. -- CB
I think Veterans should have a national holiday and respect during the National Anthem. Because Veterans, over the years have devoted their time to serve, and protect our country. And in my opinion. If we didn’t have a day to show our respect, for those who served, protected, or died for our country. It’s like saying we don’t care for their sacrifice, and it doesn’t seem right to me. Especially when you’ve got people who lost one they love in war. To this day they will never forget them. So, neither should we.
By remembering and those who fought for us. We are honoring them for their hard work and sacrifice. We are still alive because of them. We should take time to honor that.
Yes, our veterans do deserve a day of respect because they risked their lives to protect our freedom. They were very brave soldiers that watched their brothers die in battle. They also risked ever seeing their families again. Yes, they deserve all the respect they can get during the National Anthem for putting their lives on the line so we don’t have to. - RM
Yes I think that Veterans Day should be a holiday. People should also stand during the national anthem because you respect the veterans that worked so hard for our freedom. People that don’t stand during the national anthem disrespect the veterans that fought and lost their life on our freedom. Veterans that returned from the war is treated differently like they don’t exist.
Veterans Day Blog
I absolutely believe that our veterans deserve a national holiday and respect for people to stand during the National Anthem. The veterans long ago and today fought for our country, some died and didn’t make it back home to their families, in order for all other people to have freedom. They fought for our country and the people in our country even when they knew that there was a chance they wouldn’t return back home. We stand for the National Anthem because it shows respect for the soldiers that served our nation and defended our nation. We most definitely should show respect for the National Anthem because without the soldiers that fought we wouldn’t live in the free nation that we have today. They deserve their own national holiday because that is the day that we remember all the soldiers that died fighting and all the soldiers that live today to show respect and our condolences to them. Everyone should absolutely show respect all the time towards our soldiers that give their lives to go out there and fight for our nation.
VETERANS DAY
Yes I think the veterans do deserve their own day because they protect our country they protect us and they do deserve respect during the the pledge and national anthem and they deserve respect because they fought and some of them died so respect the ones alive and dead
I do think that veterans deserve a national holiday and have respect during the National Anthem because they risk their lives every day they are in the battle grounds. They should never be disrespected or not have a holiday to celebrate their service. So they should always have the holiday and be respected during the National Anthem.
I believe that our veterans do deserve a national holiday and respect during the national anthem because just because they are a soldier doesn’t mean that they don’t have a family also. They work hard and they need to know that our country appreciates them for it, they might not see their families for months or even years while we are with our families everyday. They have died and served our country with heart and dedication and are very much thanked for that.

Yes I think that veterans should have a day to be honored because they fight for us. The people in the Army fight for people that they don’t even know, or may never meet. They fight for people who don’t respect them at all. They deserve to be honored for risking their lives for us every day.
Yes, Americans should most definitely give their veterans a holiday and the most utmost respect. They deserve respect because of the matter of fact that they have been overseas away from their families and friends alone. They also deserve that respect because of the fact that they have given so much of their time, money, and even lives to fight for what they believe in. Whether or not it is voluntary or enlisted they deserve the acknowledgment and appreciation that almost none of give them.
I do think that our veterans do deserve a national holiday because of all they do for us to keep our country safe. The National Anthem is a good way to show appreciation to the veterans because it talks about the veterans and them fighting for our country. The national holiday should be a day in a month where there is no holiday.
Veterans deserve a day to be set aside in remembrance and they deserve the respect of all Americans. The American Veterans have set aside their lives in order to protect the lives of everyone else, not only the lives of Americans but the lives of people from other countries. They were not forced into the service but instead volunteered. They sacrificed everything they had in order to serve everyone else. They left their families, homes, and lives and completely submitted themselves into the service of others. They traveled across the world into nations of corruption and entered the line of fire in order to give everyone freedom.
They show great bravery and compassion. They bravely send themselves into the war zone. They bravely leave their family and friends, their lives, to go to an unknown land where they could possibly breathe their last breath. They compassionate fight for the freedom of others. They compassionately submit themselves to the service of others and compassionately risk or lose their lives in order to save others.
Our veterans deserve more respect and dedication than we could possibly ever give but it is our duty as the American people they fight for to try our hardest. Most Americans don’t realize or comprehend what our soldiers are doing but they should still show them great respect.
They should get a national holiday, why?, that’s asking why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has a holiday. Veterans are to be respected to the highest degree, they fight for us, they die for us, just so we can have safe, free lives. Showing respect is the least we can do for how much they have done for us, if people disrespect veterans in the National Anthem then they should not be in this country.
Yes they deserve a national holiday. They deserve it because they have risked and lost lives. And when they get back a great percentage of them have PTSD/depression/ any other mental disorder from the trauma of war. They also get many physical disorders from the line of duty also. So that is why I think we should celebrate veteran's day.
We should respect our heroes for what they have gone through and lost. We do so like brother and sister, we bring thanksgiving. When we are protected, they are held over our shoulders for victory.
