Improving comprehension of textbook material
Our library provides teachers with effective, research-based classroom strategies to help build and strengthen literacy skills in print awareness, phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing.
This is a large resource that contains examples of research-based lessons designed for use with K-3 struggling readers, including those with dyslexia. A set of instructional strategies is provided for each component of reading; each strategy includes example lessons depicting the progression of intervention lessons over time.
This booklet contains 62 research-based example activities for supplementary intervention in fluency, phonological awareness, instructional reading, and word analysis and spelling. After initial instruction, many of these can be adapted for use in learning centers.
